Soft-Start Dump Valves

Nov. 17, 2005
An innovative softstart dump valve helps pneumatics users avoid costly machine downtime.

Designed to limit risks during initial pressurization, softstart valves control the rate of pressure increase to downstream-equipment, reducing the possibility of damage due to rapid pressurization. An internal microswitch monitors the dump function, ensuring the valve is in the signaled position prior to the next machine operation. Based on a 0.5-in.-size pipe, the valves deliver high forward and dump flow. Available in Olympian Plus 64 or Excelon 74 variations, the devices function in air-preparation assemblies or as stand-alone units, and help meet 89/392/EEC machinery-directive requirements. The units feature a maximum input pressure of 232 psi, minimum output of 43 psi, and an operating temperature range of 4 to 122°F.
