Voice-Coil Actuators

LA50-65-001A voice-coil actuators have 5-in. diameters and linear strokes of 1 in. (i.e., ±0.5 in. from midstroke). These actuators provide a peak force of 225 lb and acceleration up to 72 gs. They have a cylindrical configuration and can operate at up to 155°C. The linear actuators are sized from 1 mm at 0.7 N to 25 mm at 1,000 N. Applications include fast valves in respiration equipment, auto-focus capability in optical systems, and active damping in instrumentation.
