Antibacklash Nut

May 11, 2006
The W Series antibacklash nuts feature a patent-pending method of preloading the threaded nut halves that maximizes system stiffness while reducing drag torque.

The nut's design compensates for wear while eliminating lockup issues common when traversing from worn to unworn areas. A blend of selflubricating polyacetal, used in conjunction with precision-rolled 303-stainless-steel screw material, provides low torque and smooth operation for life. The nut performs well when run dry in conjunction with Black Ice coated screws. Minimal backlash between the leadscrew and nut interface allows for precise positioning.
