Ethernet I/O Software

Nov. 4, 2004
Software called ioProject 6 consists of applications and utilities for developing control programs, operator interfaces, and data-acquisition systems for Opto 22 Snap Ethernet-based I/O and control systems.

The Windows-based suite consists of programming tools and diagnostic utilities. Tools include a flowchart-based programming application that lets users develop control and data-acquisition applications, then download, run, and debug them in real time. Also included is a human-machine-interface application for developing operator interfaces letting Windows-based clients communicate with Snap Ethernet controllers. Other applications help configure, diagnose, and manage Snap Ethernet systems and provide for data exchange between Snap I/O and control systems, and OPC-aware software clients.

A major enhancement of this version is the ability to create subroutines for handling repeated tasks. Other improvements include more battery-backed RAM available to store persistent variables, variables initialized on download, and the addition of hotkeys for easier reconfiguration of I/O points. The software is available for download from the company Web site.
