Flow Sensors

Aug. 24, 2006
The SS 20.400 thermal flow sensor detects and measures the flow direction and velocity of gas.

The sensor measures 9 mm in diameter and has a reaction time to 10 msec. In addition to the 4 to 20-mA analog output, the sensor offers two digital outputs for flow direction and limit value. An RS-232 serial interface lets the user program the sensor on-site, via PC. Applications include laminar flow monitoring in clean rooms, monitoring of overflow or backflow between rooms with a pressure difference, monitoring of room overpressure, mobile airflow measuring, and flow measuring in medical equipment. The 100-mm-long sensors can work in free-flowing air or in ducts ranging from 15 to 1,000 mm in diameter. Measurement ranges are 1, 2.5, 10, and 20 m/sec at an atmospheric pressure of 700 to 1,300 hPa. The sensors mount via wall, flange, or through-passage. Operating voltages is either 12 or 24 Vdc.
