Frequency Converter I/O

June 3, 2004
Movidrive frequency inverters from SEW-Eurodrive can now connect to widely used fieldbus protocols via the Wago-I/O system.

FREQUENCY CONVERTER I/O

The Wago 750-653/000-021 RS-485 interface I/O module provides a communication link between the frequency inverter and all Wago Programmable Fieldbus Controllers (PFC). This connection provides three words of process input data as well as three words of output data from the converter for decentralized control or network master control via the PFC. In addition, it is possible to use a parameter channel to access or manipulate any parameter in the inverter. The communication between the PFC, serial module, and the frequency inverter takes place via a function block (SEW.LIB) that can be downloaded for free from Wago's Web site. The resulting system eliminates the need for expensive and hard-to-get PLC option boards. The Wago connection provides access to fieldbus protocols such as DeviceNet, Ethernet, CANopen, Profibus, and Modbus.
