No-Maintenance Magmeter For Conductive Fluids

June 16, 2005
The Signet 2551 Magmeter, an insertion-style electromagnetic flow sensor, has no moving parts to wear or foul.

It provides a variety of signal outputs and connects to other Signet instrumentation via frequency or digital signals. The unit also connects directly to PLCs and other equipment using a 4 to 20-mA output. K-factor values are available for all standard pipe sizes to facilitate calibration. Housing can be either polyvinylidene or polypropylene for corrosion resistance. All units feature stainless-steel electrodes and can be quickly mounted into pipe sizes ranging from 0.5 to 8 in., (DN15 to DN200) using standard Signet installation fittings. The unit has a dynamic flow range of 0.15 to 33 fps (0.05 to 10 m/sec) with repeatability of ±0.5% of reading, even in extremely dirty fluids. Linearity is ±1% of the reading. Two-wire design reduces installation costs and a stainless-steel grounding ring assures accurate measurement even in electrically noisy environments. Maximum quality is assured by complete factory testing and a test certificate is supplied with each sensor.
