New Products: Drives for DC/DC Converters

July 24, 2008
The PSDM Series of power modules replace discrete power transistors (IGBT/MOSFET) in dc/dc converters.

Three versions of the PSDM are available.

Two of the models include a high-side gate driver that can also be used for threephase inverters. These units also have internal circuitry that switches off to protect the power transistor during shorts or reduced voltage drive at the output power stage. Additional features include two diagnostic outputs, a fault output, and status monitor output.

The simple (third) version has a lowside driver only; it is typically used as a voltage stabilizer/power distributor. The PSDMs can drive a six-transistor, three-phase output in inverter applications, which produces a clean sinewave output, minimal distortion, and maximum efficiency and reliability.
