Software simulates electronics cooling

May 10, 2007
Icepak V4.3 electronics-cooling design software can directly represent CAD geometry.

Software simulates electronics cooling

This lets V4.3 provide a higher degree of automation while modeling complex shapes. The software provides fast and optimal meshing. Further, the mesher works on CAD geometries quickly and efficiently. It generates grids of almost any size and complexity, consisting mostly of hexahedral elements. The software also generates triangular, tetrahedral, and pyramidal cells. The software allows direct import of trace details from MCM/BRD and Gerber files of PCBs. Features include modeling of temperature-dependent power supplies, enhanced macros, and improved correlations for finding heat transfer coefficients.
