New Product: DC/DC Converters for Memory Boards

April 10, 2008
The 60-A-rated VCN60BADJTU-1C and 70-A-rated VCN70BADjTU-1C are form-factor, point-of-load dc/ dc converters that deliver high efficiency and high current density for powering DDR1, DDR2, and DDR3 memory and general-purpose ICs.

The converters have an approximate current density of 50 A/in.3 , 88% efficiency at full load, 0.6 to 3.5-Vdc programmable output range with a typical setpoint accuracy of 0.5%, and 12-Vdc input voltage. Features include soft-start circuit, differential remote sense, power-good signal, prebias turn on, and output enable, as well as overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection.
