Permanent-Magnet Motors And Drives

Feb. 9, 2006
The Ecoheart family of high-efficiency permanent-magnet motors and drives achieve 10% higher efficiency because internal power loss is reduced by 50%.

The high-performance magnets and a new method for winding the stator reduce motor volume by 50% and weight by 35%. The motors/drives employ sinusoidal motor-current waveform, instead of trapezoidal waveform, to achieve low-torque ripple, low vibration and acoustic noise, and reduced harmonics.
