Rigid Couplings

March 9, 2006
One and two-piece precision-honed rigid couplings, with and without keyways, come in aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel.

Straight and step-bore combinations are available to fit sizes ranging from 1 /8 to 2 in. and 3 to 50 mm. The one-piece version wraps around the shaft for high torsional holding power without shaft damage and fretting inherent with set-screw-style couplings. The two-piece styles allow for disassembly and maintenance without removal of other components and feature opposing hardware for dynamic balancing. The couplings come with Nypatch socket-head cap screws. The Nypatch process involves depositing a 360° coating of nylon on several threads of the socket-head cap screws, which reduces vibration.
