CAD And PLM Head to 64-Bit Linux

Aug. 18, 2005
UGS will add the Linux opensource operating system to its list of supported environments for Teamcenter and NX CAD programs.

Teamcenter and NX are both being ported to Linux on x64 technology supported by AMD and Intel. The x64 platform lets 64-bit applications address large amounts of memory, simplifying development of large, complex models. In addition, the x64 is backward compatible with the x86 architecture, so customers can run the latest 64-bit applications along with 32-bit applications on the same machine. Shipping begins Q4 of this year. Initial support will be for Novell's SUSE Linux Desktop and Enterprise Server 9.
