Digital Angular-Position Sensor

Dec. 14, 2006
A new digital angular-position sensor targets automotive stability-control systems that need accurate steering-position information.

The device has analog, PWM, and CAN bus outputs. It features 12-bit resolution over 360° of rotation, with absolute position output available up to ±1,440°, and a minimum life cycle of 25 million rotations. Typical operating voltage is 5.0 V (±0.25 V), with 12-V operation available. Operating temperature range is -40 to 125°C.
