Product Spotlight: Insulating Epoxy

June 19, 2008
Araldite HCEP (hydrophobic cycloaliphatic) epoxy is a candidate for construction and insulation of monolithic instrument transformers used in extreme climates.

Tests have reportedly shown the epoxies have good tracking and erosion resistance, reduce current leakage, and improve thermal cycle resistance. The epoxy is rated for NF 16-101/102 flame retardancy, passed the Koeberg Insulator Pollution Test in South Africa, and is approved by electric-utility companies including Eskom, EDF, and Kepco.
