CAM for small shops

Oct. 12, 2006
NX CAM Express NC programming software, which targets small to midsize manufacturers, works alone or inside Velocity Series PLM applications.

Packages such as Mill-Turn and Three-Axis Milling provide CAD translators, tool-path verification, a machining database, and postprocessor build and edit tools. The software selects parameters from the database according to operation, material, cutting tool dimensions, and machine tool. Automation tools such as featurebased machining ease programming for less-experienced users.
