Free Software Simulatres Electromagnetics

April 14, 2005
Maxwell SV is a free, downloadable, subset of Maxwell 2D, electromagnetic-field simulation software for the design of electromagnetic and electromechanical devices.

The software is ideal for engineering students studying topics such as electromechanical components, power-electronics, and mechatronic design. Users say the SV tutorial does a good job of familiarizing them with the software operation. The post-processor is a powerful tool that lets students visually understand what is happening with the fields. The new version of Maxwell SV includes 2D Electric Field Solver, 2D DC Magnetic Solver, 2D AC Magnetic Solver.
