Signal Isolators

Sept. 28, 2006
TCC-82 signal isolators provide bidirectional serial communication with full electrical isolation between two RS-232 devices.

These isolators protect both sides of the connection optically from lightning surges, accidental high-voltage shorts, and ground loops. The built-in, wide-range optocouplers can withstand more than 4-kV rms input to output for 1 min. This line meets requirements for general data communications, industrial automation, and medical applications. The TCC-82 also supports power-overserial, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
