An Interoperation Idea For Supply Chains

April 1, 2005
The Open Manufacturing Backbone (OMB) is a globally scalable technology intended to transform digital manufacturing through an open environment so third-party software applications can interoperate.

The technology foundation for OMB is UGS' Teamcenter Manufacturing, an enterprise platform to help companies digitize and manage manufacturing processes. Third-party digital manufacturing applications, including those developed by UGS customers, competitors, strategic partners, and other third parties, interoperate seamlessly within OMB. The backbone is accessible by published PLM XML using the same tools UGS uses to integrate its own E-factory digital-manufacturing applications.
