Valve-Gate Actuators

Jan. 12, 2006
ServoGate electric linear actuators target valve-gate control systems in the molding of large and complex plastic parts.

They are designed to replace hydraulic or pneumatic systems used in valve-gate control, including sequential valve gating. Actuators produce 500 lb of continuous force, are water cooled to operate at 400°F, and have a cycle life of less than a half second for a 3/4-in. extend. A magnetic encoder is built in. The design is integrated, not a belt-coupled/reverse parallel (RP) design, with separate motor and servoactuator components. These devices use Axiom Plus PV brushless servocontrollers/drives.
