Polyamide Replaces Metal

Feb. 8, 2007
Stanyl 4,6 polyamide (PA46) can replace metal in assemblies traditionally made from metal and rubber.

Candidates for such applications are automotive strut mounts, electromechanical antivibration and antishock mounts, and exhaust hangers. The PA46 handles 200°C continuous-use temperatures with transient peaks to 250°C and resists grease, gasoline, and oil. It also offers excellent weld-line strength and resists fatigue.
