Photoetched Polyimide Films

April 27, 2006
Photoetched polyimide films give designers low tooling costs, fast turnarounds, and rapid design changes for flat, intricate parts, including nonconductive washers, screens, and gaskets.

Photoeching 0.001 to 0.005 in-thick films also creates etched bend lines on parts that will be 3D formed. Polyimide's physical and chemical properties let photoetched parts serve in corrosive environments over a wide temperature range. The polymer also has good electrical insulating and limited spring properties.
