Three-Phase Motor Starters

Oct. 26, 2006
The BL20 xStart three-phase motor starter modules connect to the same rack as standard I/O.

The modules mount directly next to other BL20 modules and are controlled by the same gateway, letting motors be controlled via DeviceNet, Profibus, or CANopen fieldbus protocols. Available in direct online and reversing (with and without trip indication), the starters contain a base and power module. The base contains I/O and communication electronics and can be configured to let power modules of various ratings be used. The power module has a motor-protective circuit breaker and one or two contactors. The hotswappable modules allow the connection of motors rated to 7 hp at a rated operational voltage of 480 Vac.
