Hollow Shaft Encoders

April 27, 2006
The dual-output option for HS35 hollow shaft encoders provides redundant encoder signals for reliability.

Two sets of internal electronics send identical isolated output signals to two separate connectors. If one output becomes electrically damaged, the cable can be switched to the other connector. The dual-output feature can also supply two separate controllers from a single encoder. The connectors are mechanically parallel for simple connection to a second controller. The encoders have a heavy-duty design with a rugged cast-metal housing and dual preloaded bearings. Rotating shaft seals and a sealed connector meet NEMA-4, 13, and IP65 specifications. The Series accommodates a variety of shaft bores, up to 1-in. diameter, and has an installed package length of just over 2 in.
