Epoxy Sealing

Oct. 26, 2006
Uni-form epoxy preforms are an alternative to liquid epoxy for sealing applications.

The preforms are one-part epoxy resins that are solid at room temperature. When heated, the Uni-forms melt and cure to form a consistent seal to protect components from dust, moisture, oil, flux, solvents, and conformal coatings. Benefits include close tolerances on preform configurations, consistent premixed ratios of resin to catalyst, and consistent viscosity from beginning to end. Uni-forms can be dispensed at 200 to 600 ppm with little or no operator training. Preforms eliminate pot-life concerns and costly cleanup procedures.
