Remotely Operated Acutator

July 7, 2005
The RO-Bug is a remotely operated linear actuator that integrates a 12 or 24-Vdc servomotor with matching amplifier.

Each system is tuned for a standard 1 to 2-msec pulse radiocontrol (RC) interface. The actuator is available in stroke lengths of 2, 4, and 8 in. The servomotor is connected to a ball or Acme leadscrew via a Kevlar-T-reinforced drive belt providing quiet operation with reduction ratios of 1:1 to 5:1. Feedback is via a linear potentiometer with an accuracy of 0.005 in. over a temperature range of 32 to 130° F at speeds from 0.001 to 20 ips.
