Size-8 Noncaptive Linear Actuator

May 19, 2005
This size-8 linear actuator occupies a space of 0.8 in. (21 mm) and is available in resolutions ranging from 0.0015 to 0.04 mm/step.

It delivers thrusts up to 10 lb (4.5 kg). The leadscrew in this noncaptive design passes through the center of the motor. As the internal-threaded rotor of the motor turns, the leadscrew does not rotate but moves axially through the motor. The design is well suited for applications where the leadscrew is secured at each end and the motor translates along the leadscrew.
