The Tru-Bond 18400 Series of light-cured pressuresensitive adhesives hold metals, glass, ceramics, and plastics, including difficult-to-bond materials such as polyethylene and polypropylene panels.

The Tru-Bond 18400 Series of light-cured pressuresensitive adhesives hold metals, glass, ceramics, and plastics, including difficult-to-bond materials such as polyethylene and polypropylene panels.

The adhesives come in liquid and gel formulations and have unlimited open time after application — parts coated with cured adhesive can be bonded immediately or stored for assembly later.

The solvent-free adhesives can be applied in various film thicknesses or bead widths by hand or with automated dispensing equipment, such as roll-coaters, valve-dispensers, sprayers, or screen-printers. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light instantly cures the adhesives to an optically clear, nonyellowing finish. The cured adhesives are dry to the touch, yet extremely tacky.

Adhesive surfaces on parts to be stored and bonded later are protected with release paper such as Mylar. Immediately after assembly, the adhesive’s initial peel strength is 1 to 4 pli, allowing separation and repositioning of bonded substrates. Once assembled, the adhesive’s “cold-flow” qualities improve bond strength to 8 to 12 pli in about 12 hr, resulting in bonds with a balance of peel strength and creep resistance. The bonds withstand –10 to 125°F.
