Rotary Switches

Sept. 28, 2006
Rotary military switches are designed to withstand impact, vibration, temperature variation, and natural events.

Fully enclosed switching mechanisms protect the unit from dirt, sand, and moisture. Quick make-and-break action works for dc as well as ac switching. Stationary low-resistance, doublewiping contacts can be nonshorting, shorting, or "sweep" style. Rotor blades can be simple (single-throw switching in one circuit and double-throw in another), right-angle (for double-throw switching and an intermediate off position), or multifingered (for double-throw, triple-throw, or four-throw switching.
