Optical Encoders

Aug. 18, 2005
The CP-850 and 950 HHC Series of incremental encoders come in resolutions ranging from 25,000 to 1.25-M pulses/rev.

Quadrature edge detection provides up to 5 million measuring steps/rev. Absolute accuracy is ±12 arc sec. The CP-850 comes standard with a 3/ 8-in. (9.53-mm) shaft. The CP-950 comes standard with a 0.05-in. (12.7-mm) hollow shaft with integral shaft coupling. Both models are industry-standard size 25 (2.5-in. body diameter) and only 2.5 in. (63.5 mm) long. IP66-rated sealing and connectors are optional. Output is standard A-B plus inverse quadrature and index pulse. The encoders work to 85°; higher ratings are available by special order. The Series is designed for use in high-precision positioning and measuring systems such as microlithography, photogrammetry, antenna pedestal positioning, high-resolution machine tools, telescope systems, and rotary tables.
