Low-Noise IC Drivers

June 2, 2005
Durel D381 and D365 IC drivers for electroluminescent (EL) lamps feature "wave-shaping" programmability that lowers audible noise.

The drivers are based on a patented 3-Port (3P) topology that lets designers ground one of the two lamp electrodes to reduce EMI interference. The D381 IC driver has the lowest current draw, thus providing longer EL lamp and battery life while delivering much higher brightness. The D365 IC driver has a higher output, providing peak-to-peak voltage of 260 V.
