Metal-Alloy Strip Resistors

April 14, 2005
The CSS Series of ultralow resistance (

<2m), surface-mount metal strip resistors rated for 45A at 1 W exhibit low inductance and TCRs. The resistors come in two and four-terminal Kelvin designs, with resistances of 0.0005 to 0.002 They can be used in voltage-regulation modules (VRMs) to sense current on multiple phases to help balance the overall load. Rated for a full 1 W at 70°C, the CSS Series features TCRs as low as ±20 ppm/°C. They are rated for operation from 40 to 125°C. Inductance values range from <0.1nH at 100 and 300 Khz. Continued stability beyond 300 MHz make them well-suited for high-speed computer power supplies. They fit within the industry standard 2512 footprint, with a board-mounted profile of just 0.030 in. (0.76 mm).
