Low Warping, Fiber-Reinforced Thermoplastic

July 13, 2006
A polymer blend made from Celstran LFRT (long-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic) and Topas COC ( cyclicolefin copolymer) reportedly reduces part warpage by 80 to 90%.

Structural automotive parts made from the blend are dimensionally more stable and stiffer, and mold with better surface aesthetics and shorter cycle times. Celstran LFRT gives the blend high impact strength and low creep, while the Topas COC boosts strength, stiffness, heat resistance, and dimensional stability.
