Modular Large-Ton Presses

June 22, 2006
Titan 1,000, 1,100, and 1,500-ton injection-molding machines (IMMs) feature modular construction, so injection units and clamp tonnages can be interchanged.

Modular design also makes the IMMs easier to build and assemble. The Titan Series features the first low-friction, heavy-duty, linear-bearing guidance system for large-tonnage IMMs. The system reportedly improves molding precision, lowers cycle times, and reduces mold wear. The IMMs also come with Smart Pumps with pressure controls to optimize energy efficiency and a two-platen design to decrease machine footprint. Titan 1,760-ton presses will be available in July with additional 2,750, 3,300, and 4,400-ton models to follow.
