Motor Drive Features Guardmotion

Nov. 9, 2006
The TUV-certified Kinetix 6000 safety servodrive with GuardMotion incorporates a safe-off function that lets users restart machines faster and reduce downtime in the event of unplanned maintenance.

The safe-off feature of the Kinetix 600 eliminates torque at the motor. The machine shuts down but keeps the power supply on for maintenance tasks such as cleaning the machine, removing jams, or changing tools. TUV Rheinland certified the safe-off feature as suitable for risk reduction applications up to SIL 3 according to IEC 61508. The feature is also certified for Category 3 according to EN 954 European safety standard.
