Three-Finger Grippers

Jan. 6, 2005
The PZN-plus Series three-finger gripper features a newly designed jaw guidance that delivers higher load capacities, longer finger capability, and better efficiency.

The gripper's forces and moments are spread over several surfaces of a multiple-tooth guide, increasing finger length by 30%. The design enhances moment loading capability, permitting higher external loads to be applied without damaging the gripper or causing operation problems. The actuation mechanism is based on the double-wedge principle. A pneumatic cylinder integrated directly into the housing allows for a compact lightweight package. The gripper comes in five body sizes from 64 to 60 mm. Grip force is between 580 and 18,000 N with strokes from 12 to 50 mm. Gripping conditions are monitored by magnetic or inductive-type switches.
