Two-Phase Stepper-Motor Driver

April 26, 2007
The IMS201 two-phase stepper-motor driver is an intelligent pulse-generating device targeting critical continuous-moving automated systems.

The CE-rated driver operates from a 24-Vdc power supply, weighs only 56 gm, and has a high-resolution speed selection of 1, 12, 14, and 18 stepping rates that lets users run the system at 200, 400, 800, or 1,600 steps/rev. The IMS201 reaches 2.0 A/phase with an adjustable driving current via an onboard variable resistor, letting it drive any two and four-phase stepper motors rated to 2.0 A/phase.
