New Product: How to generate parametric models from point clouds

Oct. 11, 2007
Rapidform XOR2/Redesign 3D scanning software generates parametric CAD models from point-cloud data.

The software works with scanners from Faro Technologies, Perceptron, Romer, and others, and CAD programs including NX, SolidWorks, and Pro/Engineer. A Mesh Build-up Wizard helps users generate defect-free, watertight meshes from raw scan data. Users then need only press one button to refine and optimize meshes. The software provides G2 continuity with all surface-modeling functions, even for imported surface patches.
