Injection Cylinder Control

July 27, 2006
New Series 2X DPQ digital controllers for hydraulic injection cylinders feature internal DeviceNet or external analog control for most injection-molding machines.

Closed-loop injection velocity and pressure profiles have completely bumpless transitions and eliminate hydraulic shock. Transfer from velocity to pressure control is triggered by injection-cylinder position, hydraulic pressure, or moldcavity pressure. The unit runs stand-alone or with any PLC that uses DeviceNet. The DPQ also captures SPC data. Other applications include blowmolding for shoot and fill; machine-tool broaching, honing, and transfer; and in the press industry for compression molding.
