Product Spotlight: Portable Fuel-Cell Generator

June 5, 2008
The HydroPak is a portable power generator that provides up to 14 hr of power with a single disposable cartridge.

The wateractivated cells have a shelf life of several years and generate enough power to recharge an average notebook computer 8 to 10 times. A cartridge puts out 400 W, which is available through an ac outlet and two USB ports. The HydroPak can also run indoors with quiet operation and zero harmful emissions; is quieter, lighter, and smaller than generators; stores more energy than regular batteries; and is less expensive than any similar fuel-cell device.
