Silicon Formulations

Feb. 8, 2007
The silicon can be a slippery surface finish, for example, can facilitate insertion of a medical instrument.

A slightly tacky surface, in contrast, can improve grips on surgical instruments for better tactile sensitivity and instrument control. Many of these silicone formulations have better impact resistance and all are autoclavable. They have micro to macro molding capabilities, selection from material durometers, custom colorization, and conductive or insulated materials.
