or hardware as well as exercise the Magellan family of motion processors. The developer's kit provides four-axis motion control for brush or brushless dc, microstepping, and pulse and direction motors. Included is a PCI card, cables, and CD-ROM. Connection to an external amplifier and motor takes place via two 50-pin header connectors. User-selectable profiling modes include S-curve, trapezoidal, velocity contouring, and electronic gearing. The board generates motor output signals (PWM, analog, and pulse/direction), closes a servoloop for dc brush and brushless motors, and provides PLC-style inputs and outputs for custom applications control. Accel and decel values are separately programmable, and there is a parallel I/O CANbus. Other features include serial point-to-point and multidrop host communications, dual-loop encoder input, bi-quad servo filtering, multiple profile breakpoints, and on-card servo trace.
