The VC4472 Smart Camera uses a 1-GHz DSP from Texas Instruments. An 8-bit color overlap operates in opaque or transparent mode.

Standard equipment includes an RS-232 and an Ethernet interface, an external trigger for jitter-free image recording even at high reading frequencies, and a high-speed encoder interface. Additional features include an SXGA video output, four digital PLC inputs and four digital outputs, 4-Mbyte Flash EPROM, and 64-Mbyte SDRAM for program and picture storage. Storage can be extended with an optional 512-Mbyte SD card.
