HD-Format High-Speed Camera

March 22, 2007
GigaView, a networked high-speed camera, records high-resolution digital video for over 8 hr through its gigabit Ethernet interface.

With burst and continuous modes, this dual-use system troubleshoots production lines. Troubleshooting mode records 1,280 × 1,024 images at 530 fps to onboard memory for up to 30 sec. Continuous mode records 640 × 480 images at 250 fps for up to 8 hr, recording momentary disruptions, external interference, and equipment failures. The camera performs both tasks at once by bursting to onboard memory while in streaming mode. Trouble-shooting features include image-cued triggering, memory sector recording, 10-bit grayscale, and autoexposure. For monitoring, all of these features are still available when storing to onboard memory, in addition to real-time streaming of digital video. Software (included) lets users set-up, record, and playback burst and continuous video.
