New Products: Zero-backlash flexible-beam couplings

One series has two sets of three cuts and features larger body sizes and stronger beams for high torque and torsional stiffness, while not sacrificing misalignment capabilities.  The other series has two sets of two spiral cuts and is designed specifically for precision.

Two series of zero-backlash flexiblebeam couplings, machined from a single piece of aluminum, feature multiple spiral cuts. This design provides high torsional stiffness and torque, reduces wind-up compared to a commodity- type single-beam coupling, and allows the couplings to accommodate angular misalignment, parallel misalignment, and axial motion.

One series has two sets of three cuts and features larger body sizes and stronger beams for high torque and torsional stiffness, while not sacrificing misalignment capabilities.

The other series has two sets of two spiral cuts and is designed specifically for precision applications such as encoders and tachometers.

The beam couplings are also available in stainless steel for higher torque and added corrosion resistance. The units come in 20 different body sizes with outside diameters ranging from / to 1½ in. and bores from / to ¾ in.
