Marathon composite-mounted bearing units use thermoplastic housings that are up to 61% lighter than cast iron

Marathon composite-mounted bearing units use thermoplastic housings that are up to 61% lighter than cast iron. Integrated steel coils are said to add fracture strength. The cavity-free base mounts units flush with surfaces to keep out contaminants.

Users can specify stainless-steel or standardsteel bearings coated with ZMaRC for corrosion resistance. Seals are low-friction rubber, and H1 lubricants are sealed into the units. The assemblies resist citric acids, cooking fats, and wash-down chemicals common in food processing.

Units are available in various housing styles, including pillow block, flanges, tapped base, take-up, and hanger. An optional eccentric locking collar provides a slip-resistant fit. Made-to-Order (MTO) warranted product options and CAD drawings are available online.
