Mercury II 5000 digital encoder provides digital output right from the sensor

The Mercury II 5000 digital encoder provides digital output right from the sensor. Features of the unit include 5-μm to 1.2-nm linear resolutions; 20k to 268M CPR rotary resolution; ±1- m accuracy; and speeds to 5 m/sec.

The encoder’s compact system design includes a sensor that is just 11-mm high. All electronics are integrated, including programmable features and interpolation up to x16,384. High-speed applications are supported by a new A-quad-B output that is up to 5 m/sec at 0.1-μm resolution.
