The BL-1300 ultracompact digital bar-code reader uses noise reduction and compensation functions that overcome reading performance difficulties of conventional analog circuits. Constructed with die-cast magnesium bodies, the IP-65-rated readers are dirt and harsh-environment resistant, and can be mounted anywhere.

A new High-speed Parallel Processing Engine (HPPE) allows for stable performance of up to 1,300 scans and decodes/sec. A new edge-detection process accurately extracts the points of alternation between bars and spaces on even the most difficult-to-read bar codes. With digital compensation, users can read varying narrow/wide bar ratios. 3Hi-Digital models solve typical reading problems, such as nonuniform line thicknesses, misaligned marking, shiny backgrounds, uneven backgrounds, and reading from a diagonal orientation (pitch angle). High-resolution digital processing guarantees a stable decode with incredibly narrow bar widths, allowing codes to be printed as low as 0.08 mm without the worry of noise affecting the reader.

The BL-1300 Series supports USB and Ethernet interfaces as well as RS-232C, RS-422A, and RS-485 communication. A multi-I/O function lets users assign various operational functions to the reader’s two inputs and four outputs.

Additional functions include auto-trigger mode, preset/comparison function, barcode position-detection function, synthesized bar-code reading function, and support for GS1 Databar (RSS) bar codes.
