Heading back to the classroom isn't just for kids. A new seminar titled, “Gear Manufacturing & Inspection Methods, Practices, Application & Interpretation for the Design Engineer” will take place October 18 to 20 in Cleveland. Attendees will gain a broad understanding of the methods used to manufacture and inspect gears, and then learn how to use this information in the design process. Seminar students are also educated in the methods behind a variety of gears, including external and internal spur, single and double helical, and bevel and worm designs. A description of each manufacturing and inspection method will be provided, with both the methodology and underlying theory explained. Features associated with each manufacturing method will be discussed regarding their ability to refine, guide, and optimize the design process. Students will also walk through interpretations of all inspection results. Finally, the seminar includes a plant tour of AGMA founding member Horsburgh & Scott, a manufacturer of industrial gears and mechanical gear drives.

The cost is $1,395 for AGMA members and $1,895 for nonmembers. For more information, visit agma.org/events-training.
