Drop-in motor finder

Actuators can now be matched to an engineer's preferred brand of stepper or servo motor. A “Your Motor Here” program at includes more than 80 actuators in nine different series for inline and reverse-parallel drive configurations — to give designers an efficient way to match almost 50 brands and over 900 models of servo and stepper motors to Tolomatic's actuators at no charge. Drop-down windows allow selection of motor manufacturer, series, and model; matching actuators are then displayed. Then the motor and mounting-plate dimensions can be made.

Chain design made easier

PARTsolutions, LLC, Milford, Ohio, and U.S. Tsubaki Inc., Wheeling, Ill., a manufacturer and supplier of power transmission and motion control products, now offer the Attachment Chain Configurator at

Created for the Roller Chain Division, the Configurator contains common attachments, and automates a process that is traditionally manual and prone to errors. The tool requires registration, but enables engineers to create custom attachment chain configurations interactively via the Internet, download 3D files, and then request quotes.

Same-day shipping for online orders

Dunkermotoren USA has launched its new e-Shop to simplify the ordering of sub-fractional integral brushless and brushed dc motors. More than 400 motion components can be delivered in two weeks; soon, Dunkermotoren will make most of those available for same-day shipping. Access the e-Shop through

MISUMI USA has enacted a similar program: Their in-stock items are shipped the same day that orders are placed via by 12:00 Noon Central Standard Time. This program applies to all MISUMI USA products including factory automation components, press and die, and mold components. Questions about the same-day shipment option can be answered at (800) 681-7475.

Remote support

Rockwell Automation now offers support at Subscribers receive support via email, online chat, and interactive user forums. Soon, smartphone connectivity will allow access to support and chat lines. Technical support engineers are available 24/7 and speak more than 20 languages. For engineers who prefer to address their own issues, a Self-Assist Support contract offers downloadable software updates and access to an Automation Knowledgebase of technical solutions.

Moving systems: Best explained with video

Macron Dynamics, Croydon, Pa., a manufacturer of belt-driven linear actuators and multi-axis automation systems, has turned to online video to showcase their linear actuators and multi-axis gantry systems in real world applications. “We looked at our products and thought, they move,” said Tony Cirone, president at Macron Dynamics, Inc. “Video is the best way to showcase Macron's products and help educate our distributors and customers.”

design your own self-lubricated bearing

Metallized Carbon Corp., Ossining, N.Y., has its redesigned website at The new site contains an expansive range of Metcar's engineered self-lubricating carbon-graphite products for pump, oven, conveyor, damper, petrochemical, and chemical processing applications.

The new “design your own bearing” feature allows users to select from among a variety of materials and make choices on the design frame, bearing cartridge, and cartridge retainers. With more than a dozen different frame designs, a bearing assembly can be constructed to fit almost any OEM or customized board dryer or conveyor.

Bellows website organized for convenience

BellowsTech, LLC, Cedar Grove, N.J., a manufacturer of edge-welded metal bellows, has launched a new website at Because material, type, and custom requirements are all important factors in the selection of bellows, BellowsTech allows the user to browse by each category.

Each individual product page features the overview and specifications to permit prospective and existing customers to design and configure a product to their needs. A brief contact form is included on each page — to help visitors keep the information they've already found.

Applications pages detail aerospace, medical, oil and gas, and semiconductor bellows to explain how BellowsTech supports certain markets.

3D CAD modeling for drawing conveyors

Dorner Mfg. Corp., Hartland, Wis., now makes drawing conveyor systems much faster with a new 3D CAD landing page at The website serves as a direct link to more than one million model possibilities with just one click of a mouse. The new conveyor model configurator also allows rendering of conveyor models in life-like 3D — to allow inspection of conveyors and equipment prior to purchase — and reveals how the conveyor will operate and interact with other equipment.

Registered users can draw conveyor models to exacting lengths in 1/8-in. increments. SolidWorks and Pro/Engineer, IGES, STEP, ACIS and other file formats are available for download.
